Mackin Modern Art
Personal Statement
I use a variety of European software programs to develop an art palette, and then generally manipulate the images to create abstract works on aluminum and acid free fine art papers.
By allowing these digital and photo-reproductive processes to dictate the outcome of the piece, I surrender a portion of control to a machine. I challenge the mechanized objectivity inherent to this method of production with aesthetically guided decision-making. The history of a completed piece involves multiple iterations of process: a Photoshop piece will be created then filtered and digitally increased in scale and output adding layer upon layer. As this repeated processing becomes a process itself, I reference the actions of the machines and programs that I employ.
My artwork varies from photos and photo compositions to abstract color statements that speak to me. I enjoy creating works that I hope will make the viewer happy.
My modern artwork is always changing in style and subject matter. At times I am overwhelmed with so many ideas for abstract art that I would not be able to pursue them all in just one lifetime.

MetalPrints™ represent a new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. Because the image is infused into the surface and not on it, your images will take on an almost magical luminescence.
